Price Value QualityMichael(on 07/12/2015)They are a bit, just a bit, larger in width than the old stock, which is fine as notes fit better. The leather used seems better quality too as is the stitching and finishing to put it all together, and the pattern of the tweed is almost dead straight with the leather trim, which is important to me.(stitching made easier with the higher quality, thinner leather used, and thus easier to maneuver in the stitching machines? That's my guess anyhow)
Strength of the product too is impressive, as I've put the wallet I use now through a lot...it's full of cards and notes and in my back pocket I sit on it for many hours a day...it's even been soaked through with water and still no signs of stretching or ripping or breaking. (The herringbone lining is a nice touch too, very classy and slippery enough to slide cards out easily yet grippy enough to keep them in place...this has a lot to do with the quality leather stitching too).
Finally, The Harris Tweed tags, which catch the eye immediately and are like the icing atop the cake, should (in my opinion) be centred on the front side of the wallet and be as straight as possible. I own a few Pedro's now, and this is the case in the vast majority of them, thank you.
Having said all of this, I know that from a business point of view, taking the time needed to make all of them symmetrical and well stitched must be balanced with speed of manufacture, but when they are symetrical, they make a fine impression right from the first look, a splendid product well worth the £20 asking price, and miles above any other tweed wallet I've seen or owned. I say this in spite of the fact that as a Canadian, I pay double the price per wallet, so they are 40 dollars each for me....yet, I'm happy to have found Bracken.
In general, Quality over Quantity it seems, is the order of the day for the folks at Bracken from what I've purchased and owned thus far.
